I was reading comments made in response to an article about a woman in Connecticut who left her Chi-Yorkie mix in her car in 90 degree heat, windows rolled up, while she went to work. She found the dog dead an hour later and is now facing charges.
I know not everyone regards pets as family, but I was shocked to read this comment and to see 15 "likes" for it:
