I'm illiterate when it comes to quilting so forgive me if this sounds dumb...is yummy a way to quilt a particular pattern or design?
I think its just that pattern. I have a little book that has the instructions on making the blocks (cutting strips, measurements etc) and that's what this one was called. Yummy - Quilt Pattern | Jaybird Quilts heres a link to what their quilt looked like from the same pattern.

I recently did one called Science Fair, by the same company.

Some blocks have their own names, like Log Cabin, Arkansas Snowflake, Broken Dishes, etc.

Quilting patterns are different. Those are called things like meander and stipple among many, many others. I usually do a meander (kind of a curvy all over design) or echo stitching (where you follow a line or curve several times with spacing in between your stitch lines- think ripple in a pond)
I am learning feathers and other designs but they're hard!
