I agree, Kristin. I set high standards for myself and worked like crazy, but that is who I am. I just don't remember the external pressure when I was younger than I see today. I talk with these kids and see the pressure they feel to always get the best grades, to be in the most clubs and commitees, and then to try to keep up with all of the social pressures from peers. Even their cellphones create enormous pressure and stress for them. I listen to them, and my heart breaks. It would be wonderful if they (and their parents) could put their cell phones away to spend time really talking. I don't want to change the intent of this thread, but your link brought up something very crazy in our society. I understand that parents want what is best for their kids, but they need to really listen to their actions and their feelings to see if they are indeed happy.
