It's impossible to know what it is without seeing it. Max has experience with corneal ulcers, a scratch or hole in the very thin outer layer of the eye. Corneal ulcers can progress to the point where they appear as a red spot. Very, very painful stuff.

If it is one red spot in the white part of the eye, it could indicate some kind of trauma from debris getting in the eye.

Is she squinting or holding her eye closed? Is she sleeping more than usual?

These kind of things are easy to treat by a vet. Don't use any over the counter eye meds. Some can make matters much worse.
