My little Martini has access to food and water all day long. He is 5 months old also and he has accidents, probably some that I haven't found. I was about to tear my hair out after the first 2 weeks, he won't go anywhere but outside and on my carpet! I've tried pee pads, litter box, potty patch and he just won't use it. I have found that taking him out every couple hours and PRAISE AND PATIENCE are starting to work, oh and he loves treats, so as soon as he goes, he's looking for his treat...ummm guess he is trained! LOL! I am in the process of trying to bell train him, where he will ring the bell when he wants to go out, but he usually just stands and looks at me like, crazy lady let me out! Good luck, hang in there and just know it will happen and there are more of us hoping that our dogs would figure out why they can't pee on the carpet! |
