Try it with a leash. Just throw it a little ways and tug on her to come back when she picks it up. Say "bring it back" when you tug. If she doesn't, then walk with her on the leash to it and bring it back to where you were sitting/standing.

I had to do it this way with Shelby-Dale. Mandie brings it back but she is not sure she wants me to have it when she does. She'll drop it about a foot from my reach lol
