How do you entertain a senior? Sorry for all my threads today but I have questions.
Sprout is 14 years old. He doesn't like to do much, so what can we try with him with regard to entertainment?
Thus far the only things he likes are:
- cuddling
- sleeping
- bully sticks
- chasing our hands under the comforter on the bed (he likes being in soft, squishy areas)
- He likes to chew on things - a lot, particularly anything that has a high piercing squeak.
- He likes "The Claw" (from the movie Liar Liar)
- rolling around in chicken poop (gets a bath directly after)
In case you're concerned - vet says nothing wrong with him rolling around in chicken poop.
Sprout doesn't have any health issues at this time other than his hind legs will get very stiff in the winter when he goes outside to potty. He's on Apawthecary for his joints and it works awesome for him.
He has all his teeth still, so he's not opposed to chewing, he loves to gnaw on things.
...anyone have any ideas for him to keep him happy other than what I've listed?
He doesn't like to play fetch anymore, and prefers not to take walks...but I would like more ideas that will exercise him a *little* for overall health but not enough to make him sore.
Thank you in advance! |
