Nobody is saying not to work. And why is a pet sitter ridiculous? Companies have over-night people, I am sure you could find one for a late hour. Having pet sitters or dog walkers is actually very common in today's world, since yes, most people do have to work. With that said, I didn't know you worked nights, that detail was left out. How much time is getting spent with the pup during the day?
Jackson will have to stay home for probably 8hrs once I finish my degree and get a full-time job. I know this, and he's just going to have to deal. I'm not worried, I know he'll survive (but we also have an established bond, he's an adult dog, potty trained, with a great bladder), and I also know he will get most weekends devoted to him, and mornings and evenings. I will have to sacrifice late night dinners, etc, most nights unless I have someone to go let him out (he is not pad trained), but even more so than potty issue, I enjoy spending time with him. It's why I have a dog. So I don't mind devoting most of my free-time to him (like lovespandp said when she worked long hours).
Life happens, I get it. Doesn't mean you shouldn't own a dog. But I'm just wondering why a young pup was brought into this without plans in place for some socialization and playtime while alone for 12-13 hours. It's not being judgmental, I think it's common sense that puppies should not be left that long.
And your problem won't be solved unless someone is able to come home before he gets a chance to play in poo, or you're going to be living with a poo covered dog for a while.
