You can buy furniture grippers at a place like lowes for the bottom of which ever gate fits your home if they don't come with it.
I never had a problem with the gate sliding around when it was on tile, the pressure from the sides always worked well enough. But in your case I guess I probably would look for a gate that had them, just in case of damage that could be done to wood floors.
