Be careful about young kids being with her. Make sure they're sitting when they want to hold her.

Frozen peas and green beans are ok. Mine played with them 1st, so they partially thawed before she ate them.

Free samples- I'm sure you can do online orders for the foods if your pet store doesn't carry it. Or ask a manager to get order for you so you can buy it from them. I'm like you though, I'd rather not cause a fuss and go with what's available.

Merrik has small cans at my shop. I started with those, now I get the reg. sized cans and freeze what she gets bored with. We do a rotation with her foods, I put the frozen portion back in the rotation when she's hits it again. (if that makes sense)
