Also, if we only have Mia around people--not other dogs--she should be safe from Parvo, right? I don't know a lot about it, but does Parvo come from unvaccinated and infected dogs? She will probably be in my sister-in-law's back yard in her puppy pen for some of the time. Her yard is fenced in and they do not have any pets. She has also been in our back yard. The people in the house before us had a dog, but it was up-to-date on shots. Is there anything else I need to be careful about? This is a huge learning curve for me! Mia is our first baby!
