I wish I knew. Every dog is different and has their own quirks. My Papillon just came out of her first heat, she gets her freedom in two days because I was stupid and forgot to write down when she started spotting, all I could remember was she was spotting on June 17th.
This whole time she has NOT been her typical cuddly affectionate self. Could be she's mad at me for putting her in puppy jail, who knows.
Sabre has never been very outwardly affectionate. The best you get from him is when you come home, he'll put his feet up on you and stretch like a cat to say hi, and then go on about his way.
Pixie has always been the cuddle bug, even when in heat.
