AAFCO officials have know about it for years and have done NOTHING to stop it.
We should be able to read a pet food label and know what the "PREMIUM" food we are buying contains. But today there are no laws governing what the pet food industry puts into a food be listed on the label in a way buyers can KNOW what is in that food.
In 1998 Herschel Pendell was the president of AAFCO. He appeared in a King 5 Seattle Washington television news interview and was asked if he could tell if a pet food contains euthanized pets by reading the label . . . he responded with:
"If the ingredient say's meat or bone meal, you don't know if it is cattle, or sheep, or horse, . . . or fluffy."
