I don't have any suggestions for you in the Michigan area, as I don't know any that direction on a personal basis. Gigi Zybko of BluMoon Yorkies is amazing, but she is in Missouri (definitely worth the trip). There are a lot of highly recommended and reputable breeders on the YTCA site.
I would steer clear of the AKC site breeder list (sorry to offend anyone). There have been and continue to be AKC accredited breeders who were later discovered to be puppy mills. There are a lot of reputable breeders on the AKC site as well, I'm sure of that - but better be safe than sorry and go to the source (such as YTCA).
Also - just as a last effort - I would check your local SPCA, a PETA contact and any rescue organizations in your area. There are purebred Yorkies (including puppies) in shelters all over the USA.
