I have a VERY picky eater here too. Same things went on, she'd eat like a champ 1 day, then the next few days I'd have to make her eat. I always worried about low blood sugar, and had to watch and make sure she ate. It took some time to find foods she'll eat, and I switch them around a lot. I have dry out all the time, and when I feed her, I use a dry kibble base with wet food on top. When she gets tired of her wet food after a few days- I freeze what's left and use it in the next rotation. So far switching foods up is working. Mandiesmom suggested getting samples. I used samples until I found foods she liked. There's a list in the Health and Diet section of companies you can email for free samples. Pieces of boiled chicken breast also helped get her to her dish to eat.
AND the dishes...My goodness! I tried 7 or 8 different dishes before she decided the blue lid off the food storage bowl was what she wanted to eat off of!!! (She now has a proper stoneware dish- but she really didn't like bowls AT ALL! and she hated certain colors!)
I'd love to hear what your nutritionist says. Please keep us posted! |
