Funny that you mention this because you are right. Dark meat has lots of myoglobin, a large blood supply to sustain stamina in the animal while white meat does not. So that is why it tastes bloody to you because it is actually blood you are tasting which is why it is also more moist/slick.

That being said, I love dark meat. I can't handle the white meat, too dry. I was however a bit upset when I learned that I prefer the blood (dark meat).
