This is probably a crazy idea but after googling amish and puppymills I have this strong desire to go to a dog auction. After reading about the breeder dogs, I would love to try to buy an older female dog from one of these puppymillers. Do they sell them at auctions ( I know it said on several websites that they were killed) but I thought maybe you could buy their way out. How do you find out about when and where they hold dog auctions. I live in Ohio so I am sure I am close to many auctions. I just can't get this off my mind. How can they treat them like they do??

Why don't you try calling local breeders and see if they have any retiring females.....or keep trying the local shelters..you would be surprised at how many people just dump them off....in fact, my beautiful Misty is a yorkie showdog that I rescued from a shelter.
I surely do wonder as well how People can be cruel enough to do the things they do to these poor innocent animals.
