I'm so happy to know that you are giving this baby a chance for a good life with you & yours.
Five months ago, I adopted my first male Yorkie, Milo. He is a 3 yoa little angel---my love. The rescue where I got him had just had him neutered shortly before I got him. Matter of fact, I had to wait until he was healed from that surgery before I could take him home.
My only other "inside" dog had been a female mini-Schnauzer. Even though I was assured he was house broken, like you, I was VERY apprehensive about getting an indoor male dog b/c of the marking issue. Therefore, when I got home with him, I tethered him to a belt loop on my jeans & everywhere I went, he went. Also, I made sure that I took him out to eliminate about every two hours. We went through that routine for about the first week. He has never had an accident in the house nor has he ever attempted to mark. He has never humped anything either. He is just the sweetest little lovebug anybody could want.
Please keep us posted on your progress & also post pictures please. We would love to see him. Good Luck! |
