Hi there, I'm Becky and a new yorkie owner in the UK.
We have adopted a 3 year old yorkie cross and she's lovely!

We have taken this girl on as her owner was getting evicted and she would have ended up in a rescue place.
When we first brought her home she smelt SO BAD! I had to shampoo and rinse a few times and even then she still smelt!

Her poor fur was all matted and long and had a yellow tinge at the ends (her fur is a light grey on her body). I can only assume it was nicotine stained?

Anyway, I've managed to trim her body myself and she looks much better so far.

She's settling in well with our family (14 month old baby and our labrador get on well with her).

My only problem is the grooming side of things. She seems to always smell! I've groomed her "intimate" areas to avoid anything clinging on that might smell.

Does anyone have any recommendations for grooming products that I can access in the UK? Is it normal for a yorkie to smell horrible so soon after a bath (next day)?

How often should I wash her?

Please note; She's a great dog but I know very little about yorkies. I'm also a student so have limited funds, hoping not to spend a fortune on products.
