Jake also left marks on me a few days ago while giving him a bath. I really want Jake to be a lovable dog like my 7 year old, Jasmine. I know that Jake was raised in a home with three small kids. He has been spastic since we brought him home. I'm wondering if he wasn't terrorized before we got him. I just don't know how to justify this. Jake also clawed my son in the face last night leaving whelps. Any advice here????
Leave the pup on the ground and get down to him. No picking up by your son.
I would lay odds that it was out of fear not anger.
I would also suggest gettting him some training in the very posivte kind.
Working with both you and your son.
I suggest some book but do not have my reading list here.
Would read On talking temrs with Dogs by Turid Rugass.J
ake said please do not pick me up but he did it in dog not human.
Be helpful to him and you to learn his language.
I suggest also working with him gently with touching him all over his body on the ground. So Tellington Touch be good.
Not sure from what you have posted if he was any other aggression markers happening.
Up Jakes excersie and put him to work everything he wants he works for with a down or a sit or what ever you can ask him to do aand he does.

When I get back to my own comptor will post a book list in training on dog books for training and aggression.
