For animals limping always or at least almost always means something is wrong.
It is as simple as that.
It can be from anything as small as a pebble imbedded between their toe pads, to a cracked nail, a sprain or a strain of a muscle, on up to joint injuries and or even a break.
So the answer is always get it checked out by the vet.
