Same thing happened to me last summer in Texas! I had an appointment ... walked in with Toto in her bag and all the receptionist said was that the lady that was going to cut my hair would be 20 min. late. The waiting area had several grungy looking children who immediately wanted to pet and touch Toto ... I let them. I waited and finally walked over to see if the lady was going to be later than expected ... she then said to me "you can't have that dog in here!" I said "that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard ... I never leave her alone, so thank you!" Started out the door and she says "do you still want to keep your appointment"?!! I simply smiled at her and said "what do YOU think?" and left!! My hairdresser at home won't let me in the door without Toto!! She and her husband are self-proclaimed "Grandma & Grandpa" and when we are there they lock the door and play with her, running and laughing like two kids! I know that there are rules & regulations ... so they "bend" the rules a little! If Toto were a huge, stinky, unruly dog I could certainly understand ... I think that some people have so little authority and control in their lives that just delight in flexing their tiny little muscles every chance they get!!!
