Yes, I have a lock on the trailer hitch, but it's such a light weight open trailer (for home depot DIY runs) that someone could easily just tie it to a hitch with rope and pull it away.
I'm going to turn it around tomorrow, so you can't back right up to it hitch it & drive way.
I'm kicking myself thinking about what happened & how I responded, though. I was in such a 'who the hell is in my driveway' attitude, that I didn't THINK. In hindsight, the position of the vehicle off to the side of the driveway, not where you'd actually turn around, was so suspicious, I should have just drove by, and pulled over down the street & watched.
