Oh, wow. That does sound super suspicious and especially the likely stolen plates! I'll bet they were just about to hook them up a trailer and drive off. Is there an anti-theft device of any kind on your trailer that can warn you or park it elsewhere? If they come back tonight and you are asleep, yikes.
