That sounds similar to what Max went through once. It was after having a chew, and we thought he was choking because he started coughing and retching out of nowhere. Rushed him to the ER and they said he had a bad throat irritation. We followed up with our regular vet the next morning to confirm.
I pray that is all Pixie has.
