Also puppy hair is different then what there adult hair will be like it mats VERY easy. I keep Callie in a puppy cut because she just does not have the personality to have pretty long flowing hair she enjoys the elements to much for that I could just imagine everything I would have to pick out of her hair. She also gets cold very easy so she has to wear clothes almost all the time. Her hair though even when on the long side of a puppy cut never tangles and is very soft and crazy thick and I love it and hope to one day grow it out. My moms rescue yorkie has a much more cottony coat that we also keep in a puppy cute because it tangles like crazy and when he was rescued before we got him he had long very mated hair and I guess someone had tried to comb it and brush it because now if you go to comb him and hit a tiny tangle he jumps and try's to hide.
