I just don't understand why they keep designing Planes with Fuel Tanks under the body of the Plane. Range (in miles able to be flown) can not be that big of an issue. They make "Ejection Seats" to save Pilot's lives, when a crash is eminent. Why not just put the same devices on the Wings, put all the Fuel in them, and blow/separate them away from the Body.
That darn Fire Hazard is what causes SO much loss of life. I was just amazed, seeing the pictures, the Wings which were totally in tact, and the Body of the Plane burned as it was.
It's a nobrainer, DON'T force the Passengers sit on a Can of Fuel !
