I was familiar with water intoxication/electrolyte imbalance from my medical profession. Also, from my childhood, where I grew up in Kuwait, where the temp daily reaches 115*-125*, and we all had to take salt tablets on a daily basis. In the summer time, I automatically use Pedialyte in my water bowls outside for the dogs. I also have pretzels, those little round ones, with salt on them.....I will give one of those, per dog, during our time outside.....and if the temp has sky rocketed to over 100*, I will give another pretzel when we all go inside the house.... Time outside in the heat, in water, is limited, especially in the heat. Thank God, I have never had this issue, and pray I do not! This was a great post...thanks for posting!
