Default Best age to take my new Yorkie home

I have finally found my new baby Yorkie and am due to collect her in a few weeks. She will be 12 weeks old when I get her home.

Firstly - a big thanks to YT for all the help so far - this forum is a great source of info!

Secondly - my general Internet searches have told me that 8 weeks is the ideal time to take your new puppy home. However - a lot of YT threads say (strongly!) that 12 weeks is the right time. I've trusted YT and asked the breeder to hold onto my little Pippa for a few more weeks. Can anyone explain why usually 8 weeks is ok, but for Yorkies it is 12 weeks? Is it perhaps because they are so tiny?

Thanks!
