I don't know what is more risky, a tiny giving birth or spaying... and if they only mated 3 days ago, chances are there are no physical changes yet in the female.
But the vet would know best...
I have seen seasoned breeders also give this advice- and I have experience with this, but only once and I didn't know she was pregnant until the surgery.
I just hope all works out well, for the dog
