Yes Im going to call the vet, take him in and ask about a specialist. There is one near me, but I need a referral.
I don't know what they do for bloodwork. I just know when I brought him in, they did an Xray to make sure there was no blockage or anything in his abdomen. Then they said they were doing bloodwork, they came back and said (this was last Nov) that he had HGE, and was borderline needing hospitalization. The vet told me if I stayed with him 24/7 and brought him everyday for SubQ fluids then he'd be ok with me keeping him home. So DH & I took turns working from home and taking him in for 3 days straight and he recovered nicely on meds. Thats all I know. I guess I'm not good at asking questions!
