Since he's had recurring HGE in the past, I'd get him to the vet ASAP. IV fluid therary can support him through the fluid loss of vomiting and diarrhea. He may need more aggressive treatment, like IV fluids only for 4-6 days (plus meds), nothing by mouth for that long, then gradually reintroduce a bland diet then go to a regular diet. With blood loss, they can go into shock and pass on. |
