There are multiple things that can cause dog's to have allergic type reactions. Food many times can be a big part of it. Your food choice sounds pretty good but without knowing for sure what she is allergic to it is hard to say. I believe the food you picked is grain free so that would eliminate corn which is a good start.
Fleas are pretty common this time of year and many times you can miss them because when they get down to the skin level they are hard to see. I always run a flea comb through the coat of my animals after they have been outside. It is the only sure way to make sure noting has jumped on them. Look for red spots on the skin and specks of black dirt like substance on the skin. Those are tell tail signs of fleas.
I have seen people say Advantage II and also Frontline work well to eliminate fleas. I would encourage you not to use any of the cheaper brands as many of them have caused severe health problems in pets and are not effective against fleas anyway. I'm going with a more natural approach this year. It is experimental for us so I'm not passing it on until we see how it goes. I hope you can get your little girl to stop chewing on herself soon. |
