Yes, the majority of the time there is a blanket to prevent this. Unfortunately it was being washed that day. He has never fallen through and this is the second time he's been halfway stuck. After the first time, we've kept a blanket over it to prevent it from happening. And, now that he has recently gone blind we can no longer leave him alone on the couch as he could fall off.
