One check was the original one here in Houston and the "duplicate" check was the same check that had the sequence number changed, and then presented from El Paso Texas. I can not even begin to get my mind around how in they world they managed to duplicate that check, with the way they do your checks at the register...cant figure it out, but crooks know just how to do it! I think a computer at the bank caught the duplication....and then they discovered the amount had also been changed. The detective that was working the case said Walmart is notorious for this behavior and he suggested anytime we do any business at Walmart or Sams Club, use cash for the transaction. There is a huge ring of crooks that they were trying to get caught that ranged all the way from Alabama, Louisanna, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, to Arizona. Needless to say, we only use cash now when shopping at Walmart and Sams Club as well....This happened a couple of years ago, and I do not know if they ever got enough on the line of crooks to bust that entire group....I never read anything about it so am guessing they didnt. | Wow people are unbelievable. You start to wonder if they are inside jobs.. Cash sounds good to me too!!
