Yes, now that I see Mack as a baby... he does look like mine. I only saw Macs slightly older pics, and noticed right away that he had a dark nose.
I've been going crazy researching, and reading all day. I would love to chat further, and can call you when ever is good for you. The first thing I found, was probably the first for you too?
Some AKC breeder stating all of these wrong colored pups should be put down asap.
Poppy cock... is what I say to that! He's perfectly healthy, and doing just fine. Why would anyone intentionally kill a perfectly healthy puppy? Because he's the wrong color, or unique, or is it jealousy maybe? That's just cruel & nasty thinking IMO. She's probably never had one, so doesn't want anyone else to either. Just because he's no good for the ring, or shouldn't be used for breeding... he's still a live breathing being, and deserves a chance. I'm pretty sure she has a few flaws of her own (one being a very obvious personality flaw) ...but no one had her put to sleep for it. Yeash!
I understand AKC show breeders wanting only perfect show dogs, that fit the standard. However not everyone shows their dogs. I don't, and don't care if my dogs are perfect to them or not. They are perfect in my eyes, and that's all that matters.
These standards are meant for the show ring, not for your average pets... which is what he will be, providing he makes it of course.
I hope your pup will be okay. I just want to say that I feel that anyone who breeds yorkies should read and understand proper conformation whether they show or not. Structure is very important to the well being of a dog, especially the hindquarters. To many dogs are being bred that are not structurally sound and that causes problems like bad hips, knees etc. Very fine boned dogs are more subject to injuries. To many unknowledgeable breeders are just sticking two dogs together without any forethought as to what they are doing. It is ruining our breed. jmo
