After reading
this thread, I realized we hadn't yet had a reminder thread this summer about leaving animals in hot cars.
Do you know your city's law / policy regarding this issue? If not, call your local police non-emergency number and find out if they are responders for this issue.
For example, here in Phoenix (and in all AZ, I believe) if you see an animal in a car on a hot day, you can just call 911 and they will send the police to where you are to help with the situation. I've done it about 7 times here, and every time they show up within about 3 minutes.
So, find out ahead of time because you don't want to be in a situation where an animal's life is in danger, but you don't know who to call for help.
