Police dog killed, officer shot in Indiana standoff - U.S. News
The local police dog, Kilo, was a much loved member of the community.
Many are upset than the dog was put in the protective/chase/guard situation that cost his life, as he was not a schutzhound or pursuit dog, but rather a drug detecting dog.
This small community is in mourning with signs up every where that say:
KILO THE HERO.
Kilo's handler either has had, or will have surgery soon for his injuries.
The shooter claims he remembers nothing.
