Ha ok, but I prefer to use the term "Varminteers"
Varmints aren't the only thing your little Girl may be interested in out there. Things like Chinch Bugs or other creepy crawlies which are on the surface or burrowed below it, will get her attention.
Given this possibility, you might do a general spray of Insecticide on that area. Be sure to keep her inside for an appropriate time. Check the instructions on the product. If you know it's something larger like a Mole, then that can be addressed as well. Just keep in mind, that they don't dig for no reason at all.
