LOL. Love that attitude.
Our absolute best camping and it was camping with tents et al, was at Lake Superior Provincial Park here in Canada.
It was our first time, ordering and getting a campsite that had electricity! Wow what a difference that made to life. We felt like we were at the Ritz.
But the folks up in Northern Ontario, really get dogs! Such a refreshing change.
Magic our big boy, was quite young then, and also very guardy. He was quite the hit as no-one had ever seen a BRT before. Folks would apologize if they wandered in too close to our campsite and he gave a warning bark or three
They knew what kind of dog he was, just be looking at his size and demeanour. That is a guard dog.
They knew how to approach us, and always asked permission to say hello to Magic.
And they also had trained their children how to approach or not, strange dogs! Such a treat for me.
So Magic had a coterie of kids following us when we went to the doggie beach for his absolute love of retrieving a toy out of water.
I allowed some children to throw the toy into the water for him. They were thrilled! Thrilled to see him come back, sit when told, heel around etc. And that big boy obeyed their commands! How much fun was that!
The only close encounter of any negativity we had was with a strange man on the beach who wandered too close to Magics kids, and Magic went into a very aggressive mode. I was there of course. And stopped Magic, but that man made a very sharp turn away from our little group. As well he should have..... I firmly believe there was something off about that strange man. Why in an almost empty beach except for us, would you make a beeline for a group of kids?
