Embarassed My beast ATE through a wooden gate in a week!

I don't know whats up with my little guy. He's almost 8 years old, he's 7.5lbs and he has severe separation anxiety. We had to limit the area in the house for my boys since they were pottying in the house again. So we gated them into the pantry room, which is large enough for them during the day or when we go out for a little while.
They were gated with a wooden baby gate secured by 2 hooks on both sides of the door frame. In less than 1 week, my Dexter ate through the gate completely! He was out yesterday through the hole he made. Fletcher couldn't get out, nor does he really try.

Dexter is a 7lb beast!!! LOL Poor little guy.. I feel sooo bad that he's suffering from so much anxiety. The pantry room is big enough, his bed is in there, his brother is in there, toys, water, food. I give him a treat everytime I put him in there to try to make it an enjoyable place for him. But he's just mental!
