You are smart to research the breeder before you go but I just wanted to say that I don't think it would be fair for us to generalize and say that "ALL" amish people are puppymillers. We would not want to be judged that way.
I think it is fair to point out that you need to be careful and there apparently are a lot of Amish who people think are puppymills but a lot of people also have different definitions and connotations when they use the word puppymill. You may want to ask some questions before you drive that far to see if it is what you are interested in. It may save you long drive.
I hope you find out more now that you have his name.
