Bella has been doing great! She is a lot more comfortable on outdoor walks than she used to be--I walk her a block or two on her harness twice a day. She is beginning to lose her baby teeth, so she is obsessed with chewing things--I had to sew up a tear she made in her favorite stuffed bunny. She's about 5 months old now. At 7 months, I'll take her in to have her knees x-rayed to see if her growth plates have closed so I can have her spayed and her remaining baby teeth extracted. I'll post about that when the time comes. Being the science geek that I am, I signed her up for two genetics projects: one related to DNA testing, and another related to dog coat color genetics. I'm really excited about the second project, because a geneticist wants to sequence one of Bella's genes! I'll give a full report on both of these projects after they are completed. It sounds horrible, but all I had to do was take cheek swabs like they do on Law and Order. |
I'm so glad to hear that Bella is starting to lose her teeth. I noticed that Jasper has lost 2. I hope they both keep losing them!!

Those projects sound really interesting and exciting. I'm glad all she had to do was a cheek swab. How long before the results and reports start coming in. Like you, I'm especially interested in the 2nd one. Paw 5 Bella from Jasper!!
