Max and Teddy are never alone (exception: when dad was gone for a week). However, they are limited to the back of the house, the living area, to keep them away from stairs and doors.
They prefer it that way. When I leave the hall doors open, they might go take a peek, but they come back right away.
I videotaped them when I had to leave them alone. They stayed in their beds almost the whole time.
