 My Daughter is Donating a Kidney to her Friend...
My Daughter, Kelly, is donating a kidney to her friend Patty who is in kidney failure due to Lupus. Patty was diagnosed 17 years ago and she was told that she would need a kidney transplant someday. Kelly & Patty were college roommates & when Patty was recently put on the transplant list Kelly called U of M Medical Center in Ann Arbor to inquire about being her donor. She turned out to be her best match. Patty has an 11 yr old son and Kelly wants to give her every chance she can to watch him grow up.
The transplant is scheduled for July 3rd & we are going to U of M in Ann Arbor this Thursday for their final blood draws and pre-registration. They are hoping to be in the same room after the surgery so their husbands and I can be with them.
She did not want me to ask for prayers and good thoughts on Facebook because she feels that she's just doing what is right, so I am asking for them here...for Kelly and for Patty. My daughter is an amazing young woman and I am so proud of her. Peace to all... |
