I read on here the other day that someone was using 'canned air' called Pet corrector and it was working well. You might want to check that out. The Company of Animals Pet Corrector at PETCO
Also just putting some coins in a coke can and shaking the can while saying 'quiet' when they start barking will sometimes quiet them.
