Poor baby .. although it sounds like it is not bothering him. Demodex usually does not cause a lot of discomfort .. but it can when it is generalized which it sounds like his is.
I honestly would not know what to do. I have a PLE pup and I would also be concerned, but I give her Heartgard monthly and that does have Ivermectin in it. The specialist said it is not a problem. I would probably not want her to have demodectic mange all over...but I would definitely have a lengthy discussion with the specialist and maybe even do a consult with a dermatologist before I would treat.
