Our neighbor's 9+ pound Yorkie was attacked by a hawk and was lucky to survive. Hawks and owls are abundant here. We have both living in our backyard. I had Teddy on a leash in our front yard a few weeks ago when a small chicken hawk swooped right over my head on his way to nail a squirrel. He flew off with the squirrel screaming all the way.
