Aren't you overblowing what happened here a bit? I didn't read every single post but did read most and Golly Moses, what was so all-fired terrible about this thread? It's just a thread online and opinions and comments got terse and elbows got sharp, maybe even some unfair things are said, but it's not like anyone's life was threatened or reputations ruined or people driven to despair. Debate happens online and lose focus as they go along, things are said in the heat of the moment, but overall an exchange of information usually happens and we all add to our knowledge base or adjust our thinking a little bit one way or another. Long debates and heated discussions happen this way in real life, too. Sometimes we just have to move on if people's thoughts or opinions displease us in the course of a long, frank conversation.
