The YTCA standard does not specify height. It does describe a box like structure meaning length from neck to base of tail should equal height from floor to topline. Some breeders/exhibitors have said they prefer their females to be slightly longer because they tend to whelp easier.

There are a couple of grand champions here on YT who measure in the 10 - 11 inch range. One of the exhibitors told me that the typical height of show Yorkies tends to vary by region. Some judges prefer shorter legs, others prefer longer. The Yorkies at Westminster tend to be taller.

Max & Teddy are 11.5 inches tall.
